Bummin' San Francisco

Off we go again, from Tucson to the Bay for Beast Crawl 2015. We hit Santa Cruz, & disputes between the group left Neeko Ford & I stranded with the books after a gig. Our driver bailed. Well, fuck. Beast Crawl isn't for a month & we're stuck in Santa Cruz w/ all the books, my laptop, & everything needed to maintain N! thru its tours.

Christopher Morgan swept us up & stored the books at his place & gave us a roof to recuperate under. We dipped out to Berkeley, as all dirty kids do, & hopped BART to San Francisco. We flew signs & couch surfed when we could.

At City Lights, we met Chris Salas, a musician from Michigan who'd settled for a San Francisco stint in Excelsior. We grabbed a bottle & performed at the 16th St  & Mission Open Mic, a candlelit circle outside its namesake BART station. We got drunk & competed with shouting streets for volume dominance.
Of course we all lost. There's a whole lot going on out there.

Chris gave us lodging thru to Beast Crawl. After featuring w/ the Word Performances crew, & packing up Books & Shovels, Neeko + Chris + I + some traveling homies we met in Venice Beach, all bopped over to an open mic offering shots of whiskey for performers. We met poet Clay Burgh here, & w/ our weird lil crew, we bumrushed & retreated from the after-party (too many heads, too public, too much), & stumbled back to Chris's place in SF for dirty poet street ciphers & flaccid bar brawl.

Well, outta here we go. We said goodbye to Christopher Morgan & our Bay Area crew, & w/ Books & Shovels on our backs, Neeko & I hopped a Greyhound from Oakland to Manchester NH, to prep for the 2015 NYC Poetry Festival.
